"I have to think about it"

Reading Time: 45sec.

If you are selling any kind of service or product, then you have faced the common objection which goes

“I have to think about it”

You've probably said the same as me when faced with that objection and came up with something like “Yeah take your time” or “No worries we will hear us” which is the worst.

Why? Because

  • One, 90% will never reach out again

  • Two, It's more information they need, not time

And that's what you gotta give them.

More information!

The next time someone slapped me in the face with “I have to think about it” I told them:

“Making decisions is not about time but information and since I'm the only source where you can get that information from, please let me know what's really holding you back here. I'm more than happy to find a solution.”

And then you will hear why they have to “think about it”

“I'm not sure if this will work for me”

“I'm afraid I can't pay”

etc.

Now you know the real reason and can come up with solutions for the specific objections they face.

Another thing you can do is ask them 3 questions:

1. Do you think this service will help you achieve your goal?

2. Do you trust me to fulfill my promise?

3. Do you think it will work for you?

  • If the answer is yes to every question, good because now they have admitted to themselves that there's nothing holding them back.

(Which is important because they trust themselves more than you)

  • If the answer is no to 1 of the questions, you know what's holding them back and what needs to be solved before they can move on.

Win win.

Please let me know how it worked for you the next time someone comes up with that objection.
