Owned Traffic
Own your traffic ASAP.
That's the most important traffic you want to focus on. Owned traffic are people where you have personal information about them.
For example:
Their email address
The phone number
You can basically contact them whenever you want.
Now the question is:
How can you start owning your audience?
Good question.
On X, most people, including me, have a newsletter. You basically get people's email in exchange for value. And It's free to sign up, which means less friction.
Once you get people's email addresses, you OWN your audience because nobody can take them away from you.
Now, why is it essential to own your audience?
Because papa Elon could decide at any moment to close your account on X for whatever reason.
Boom. No more audience at all IF YOU DON'T OWN YOUR AUDIENCE.
Another reason is because you can create a much deeper connection through your newsletter with your audience + this is where you will make money.
X is there to make noise and get attention.
But you will have to take your audience outside the platform to make money.
There are plenty of free websites out there, like beehiiv or convert kit.
Both are easy to set up.
I chose beehiiv because the free version allows you 2,500 free subs. Only after you reached that number and want more, you will have to pay.
This is more than enough to get your first $1k month.
Let's imagine you have an email list of 1000 subs. You build a solid relationship with your audience and they trust you.
Now you create a product that you price at $100. If only 1% decides to buy (10 people) you've made your first $1k. Caching
Or you create a coaching program, and price it at $1k. Now you only need 1 person from 1000 people to buy. Sounds very doable for me.
Bonus tip:
Put your link to your newsletter in your bio and also add it in the comments of your post to get more people subscribed.
If you want to take it to another level, pay other creators to promote your newsletter or give them something different in exchange.
