I've Recently Bought a Pen for $256, But Why?
You probably saw the post from Dakota where he explained what made him buy a $900 pen.
Well, I realized why he did it. And it's f*cking mind-blowing.
Imagine this.
You want to get a fit body. You know what to do, but can't find the power to go for it.
But what do you think would happen if you invested $5000 into a fitness coach?
Let me tell you.
You would go even if you'd have 2 broken legs.
That's the reason why I bought a $256 pen. To start journaling.
I know for a fact that it can help me understand all the information I get significantly better than just taking a screenshot or bookmark some shit that I won't read again anyways.
You see, when you invest a large sum of money, time, or effort into something, you suddenly feel like you have to do it because it would be a “waste” to stop.
This phenomenon is called the “Sunk Cost Fallacy.”
Does this mean you have to buy a $256 pen? Hell no.
But let’s be real here. It’s a cool fucking pen..
Take a look
Oh, yeah, I forgot the pen holder. Common you don’t leave a gorgeous pen like this on the table right?
Thank you!
Anyway. Let me tell you 1 benefit of such “absurd” investments.
You start habits you thought you never could.
Do you struggle with making your first $ on x?
Invest heavily in a mentor.
Do you want to get fit?
Invest heavily in a fitness coach.
Try it IF YOU CAN.
At the end, you invest in yourself. That's how you should look at it.
Isn’t that something good? Correct. It is.
Forget about the money for a moment.
Look at the value you can get out of it or how MUCH MORE money you could make by such an investment, for example.
I gotta go now.
The knight is already begging me too long to take the pen and start writing again.
See you soon.
